My Work
I am a writer whose primary aim is to create conversation, invoke laughter, inspire a bit, and confess a lot. My work ranges from blogs and self-help to short stories and a few books!
I am also a trauma-informed educator with extensive experience coaching school districts, schools, & educators through the process of building trauma-informed communities of care with the goal of increasing restoration, decreasing the need for punitive discipline, and achieving academic and social & emotional goals.
My Community
My community has shaped my writing style and provided much material. The world around me offers challenges and thought-provoking opportunities to explore what, why, and how daily. Born & raised in South St. Louis, MO, I travel often but always come home. The rich, although very divided, history here broadened my view of the world. I am blessed with a good family & a circle of loyal & entertaining friends.

My most recent heart work is "You Matter! And other things I want kids to know." Inspired by my students, I share some personal stories, offer encouragement, and remind readers that they matter.
I also have a few journals out, I have been published in "Chicken Soup for the Soul," and there is more to come!
